Touchable Tuesday- Wedgits!
Here is a toy that multiple ages will enjoy! Check out Widgets! My kids played with these for almost an hour, together! Want your child to practice some problem solving and reasoning skills, fine motor skills, and experience cause and effect through play? This is a great toy for you!

Touchable Tuesday- Our Home-made Reading and Writing Kit
Looking for some fun ways to encourage your kindergartener in reading and writing? Tired of a one size fits all program? We have tried a couple of different things for reading this year that have not worked very well for us. I recently started finding some great free online resources that rely mostly on games (which have been working very well for us), and so I decided to make our own reading/writing kit to encourage her in these subjects.

Touchable Tuesday: Tot School Busy Boxes
Tot School with toys!
I finally got around to putting together some busy boxes for my busy boy! Play is the best type of school for toddlers. I've been meaning to pull together a collection of busy boxes for awhile now, to keep Jaren busy while I do about an hour of morning school activities with his sister. Ever since I started these Tot School boxes, Jaren has been quite content to go in the living room and play- for sometimes up to twenty minutes at a time! It was worth the effort of pulling it all together!

Touchable Tuesday- Fun times with my kids
There are many manipulatives, crafts, games, and toys that we thoroughly enjoy. I thought I would start a new feature on this blog called Touchable Tuesday. Every Tuesday I will post about something we have been enjoying playing with together. These will be toys, games, crafts, or manipulatives that have worked well for us. Stay tuned for Touchable Tuesday every week to learn about something new!

Music Resources for Homeschool
Here is a sampling of our instrument collection |
Planning for Music with my kids
My children have thoroughly enjoyed any music classes we have been able to be a part of. However, realistically, we cannot often afford to pay for both children to be in a music class (at a common rate of around $200 for a couple months!). What is a mother to do? Create her own music class! That is exactly what we did.
Life with a Kindergartener
Life with a Kindergartener
My daughter Joelle is five. She still loves to spend hours playing with her baby dolls. Her favorite thing to play is being a doctor. To her delight, her brother Jaren is usually happy to be her patient. She loves to be creative, but she is also a perfectionist. I see myself in her a lot as she gets older.
Review: Teach My Toddler
Teach My Toddler Review
Jaren seems to learn many things easily just from watching his sister, who is doing kindergarten at home this year. He adores his sister, and he loves to copy her! Recently, she was showing him the alphabet and he was repeating it after her. Joelle also loves to play "school" with Jaren, and he happily follows along.
